Protect-U is the DC electronic duo of Pitchfork writer Aaron Leitko and Mike Petillo, who runs the vinyl-only Future Times label with Beautiful Swimmers DJ and Fader music columnist Andrew Field-Pickering. The imprint, which Brightest Young Things describes as the city's "best (only?) cosmic boogie nu-disco/house label," recently dropped the duo's new "World Music" 12", which is full of strobing beats and painfully funky synth leads. Melt into this well-turned video for B-Side "U-Uno" by Brooklyn video artist, viber, and Innergaze member Aurora Halal; it just might be the perfect meeting of Liquid Sky neon and found footage soft-collage à la Megazord or Jaime Harley. --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
