So psyched on this ultra-noisy, ultra-fun new jam from Straight Arrows' debut LP, It's Happening. It's exactly the calibre of ragged, exuberant pop-punk you might expect if you caught any of their totally-not-frequent-enough support slots with acts like Jay Reatard, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and Deerhunter during the album's three-year incubation. So great to hear the fist-pumping super-melodies just coasting over the noise. Straight Arrows is total lo-fi glory but with a sweet and naive pop heart-- tough but lovable, like '80s punk and '60s pop.
