A few fellow Zoners have spilled ink on button-cute-boy-girl-pop duo Blue Hawaii, but nobody sums up these Canucks better than the pair’s label Arbutus Records: “the duo consists of Raph and Agor; they use voice, guitars, synths, drum machines, and other electronics to create a kind of tropical-pop with love ache melodies and experimental club rhythms.” Facts are nice. As are the songs on Blooming Summer, the pair’s debut cassette that features the Dirty Projectors-y, maybe even Bjork-y, jealousy-heavy shuffle of “Blue Gowns.” (via Yours Truly)
