Not sure how to categorise this (utterly brilliant) new jam from Sunglasses' Samuel Cooper under new alias Baby Jazz. Over twelve minutes and two seconds, it morphs from Avalanches-informed cut-and-paste soul to tropicalia and minimalist funk, all the while spitting out references to everything from video gaming to the golden eras of Hollywood and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's hard to call it a song; it feels more like a mixtape, but not like any mixtape you've ever heard before. It's totally original, for one, and despite sound combinations that seem odd on paper, it flows naturally. "Michael Jordan" is as relentlessly creative and as intriguing as it is danceable-- totally worth the hefty download, if that's not clear already. (via Rose Quartz)
