Altered Zones

Mike Collins is somewhat of a chameleon. His body of work under the Run DMT moniker spans everything from ambient sound collage to blissful pop pleasure, often zig-zagging unpredictably with each release. But common ground is found between these very different approaches to psychedelia on his Dreams cassette-- Collins' first release in over a year and for his new imprint, Culture Dealer. Album standout and pseudo-title track "Dreaming" is a hypnotic concoction that shows a happily hazy marriage of Collins' experimental and tuneful sides. --Matt Sullivan, Altered Zones via The FADER
