Altered Zones

Grainy and grimy are two words that could describe Campfires' new track, "Amelia." Wistful and waning are two others. Its vocals seemingly coated in a fine layer of dust, "Amelia" conjures ghosts of relationships past. The song's focus seems to be less one specific girl than fragments of elusive memories, warped in a haze of indecipherable lyrics and rusty guitar hooks. The single is part of Twosyllable Records' Chicago Compilation, a cassette collection of songs from 18 Chicago artists intended as an homage to the Windy City and its suburbia.
