Altered Zones

It's not too surprising that Copenhagen producer CHLLNGR remixed the xx a while back; the nocturnal and definitely Nordic lacquer that's all over this new song is in a similarly slick mode of the emotionally remote but never grey. "Ask For" is in a pretty heavy zone of deep R&B, with dub inspirations wobbling in via deep sub bass in digital stasis and crisp & lite synth drums sealing it off. --Richard MacFarlane, Rose Quartz
