Even if New York-based, Canadian composer Kyle Bobby Dunn works more in the electro-acoustic realm, his "treatises on the resonance of memory" feel like a cross between hypnogogia and long-tone chamber composition (see also: Sean McCann's texture-drenched works). Dunn's weightless guitar and organ tones blur (or totally askew) any sense of time that exists at the start of these uplifting glowers. Each of the ambient works on his forthcoming Ways Of Meaning LP reminds me of some new New York Dawn, like Eno & Fripp's Evening Star or William Basinski's Disintegration Loops. --Richard MacFarlane, Rose Quartz
