Lose a second to the echo-chamber emotion of this lost-in-space ballad from Suwanee, Georgia's Soft Powers. "Mary Never Sings Our Songs" is a beautiful, heartbroken ballad with a fierce sense of loneliness, set to stardusted glam via high falsettos and busted widescreen synth washes. It's as though being heartbroken and helpless and holing up to write songs to an unlistening ice queen were the coolest thing ever. Maybe, in a way, it is.
