Altered Zones

Deep Magic is the solo project of Alex Gray, who is currenlty melting minds as a member of the Sun Araw tropical-psych team. In addition to a number of long-form pieces he's released on his own Deep Tapes cassette label, Alex has contributed to works by Pocahaunted and Black Eagle Child, and has also released a Deep Magic album, Solar Meditations, on Not Not Fun. Now, Deep Magic is set to drop another album of panoramic psychedelic gems-- mastered by another Altered Zones favourite, Sean McCann. Lucid Thought is set for release in May via Australian label Preservation, but a cut from the album, "Minds In Lucidity I" is now available for streaming. As you'd expect from an artist who boasts the credentials above, the track is a beautiful exploration of sun-soaked textures-- swirling and flowing in waves of synths--, fingerpicked guitar and keyboards.
